Just North of San Diego is LaJolla where they put on an annual Hat Show. The luncheon and fashion show was a pre-celebration for Opening Day at the "Del Mar Thoroughbred Club". This article is about the 2013 Hat Show in which Professor Cavagnaro participated.
Diana Cavagnaro Recognized by Gaslamp Quarter Association
Mesa Fashion professor and internationally-know hat maker Diana Cavagnaro was awarded the “Chairman’s Award” at the Gaslamp Quarter Association’s 2015 Lamplighter Awards on November 10, held at Parq Nightclub in Downtown San Diego.

Cavagnaro, who runs her own boutique hat store (Diana Cavagnaro Couture Millinery), was recognized by the Gaslamp Quarter Association’s Board of Directors for her work within the community. She has helped cancer patients by volunteering for the American Cancer Society’s “Look Good Feel Better” Program, where she teaches patients how to wear hats and tie headscarves.

Additionally, she founded the Annual Easter Parade and Hat Contest in the Gaslamp Quarter, which is a fundraiser for UCSD Pediatrics Hematology and Oncology Research.

Diana recently wrote an article for the San Diego News (SDNEWS.com) about a new swimwear line created in San Diego called Goldeneye Swim.
